- Get a local SIM card and set up basic connectivity
- Register your address with immigration (TM30) if required by your accommodation
Month 2: Settling In
- Confirm your health insurance meets your visa category's requirements
- Register with a primary hospital or clinic for ongoing care
- Sign a longer-term lease or finalize a property purchase, once you've explored enough neighborhoods
- Start basic Thai language lessons — even a little goes a long way
- Join a local expat group or club to start building a social circle
Month 3: Making It Permanent
- Complete your first 90-day immigration reporting requirement
- Set up recurring household services (cleaning, maintenance, gardening if applicable)
- Coordinate estate planning and legal documents relevant to your new residency
- Plan your first visa renewal timeline well ahead of the deadline
- Revisit your budget against real, lived costs and adjust
